The Tamarisk

Oil on wood panel, 30x30cm

Looking through a square window of a little adobe hut in the desert, I noticed a tamarisk tree nearby, which I later walked towards, barefoot in the warm sand.

Alone, in the desert, the tamarisk seemed to defy the elements with admirable resilience and strength, holding on to the ground and keeping the sandy waves at bay.

As the sand moves with the wind, the dunes take an ever-changing form, fragile artworks of their own kind.
